You are only charged for work that is actually required and carried out.

At Divaar Party Wall Surveyors, we believe in transparent, fixed-fee pricing wherever possible. Below is a guide to our standard charges for residential party wall matters under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.

Fixed-Fee Services (Most Common)

Acting as Building Owner’s Surveyor

 

  • £850

Includes:

  • Review of proposed works and drawings

  • Preparation and service of all required Party Wall Notices

  • Liaison with adjoining owners

  • Schedule of Condition (where required)

  • Preparation and service of the Party Wall Award

​​Acting as Agreed Surveyor

  • £1,000 – one adjoining owner

  • £1,150 – two adjoining owners

 

 ​Includes:

  • Acting impartially for both owners

  • All correspondence and liaison

  • Schedule(s) of Condition

  • Preparation and service of the Party Wall Award


 

Individual Services (Itemised)
Where services are required separately, our standard charges are:

  • Service of Party Wall Notice: £50 per notice

  • Schedule of Condition: £350 per adjoining property

  • Party Wall Award: £450 per award

 


👉 If a notice, Schedule of Condition, or Award is not required, you will not be charged for it.

What Affects the Fee?
Our standard charges apply to typical domestic projects, including:

  • Loft conversions

  • Rear or side extensions

  • Structural alterations

  • Chimney breast removals


Fees may vary where projects involve:

  • Multiple adjoining owners

  • Basement excavations

  • Commercial properties

  • Complex structural or access arrangements

In these cases, a tailored quotation will be provided after reviewing drawings and details.
 


Frequently Asked Questions
 
What if my neighbour consents?
If an adjoining owner provides written consent and no further procedures are required, fees are limited to the work actually undertaken (for example, service of notice only).
 
Do I have to pay for everything listed?
No. Party wall procedures depend on neighbour responses and the scope of works. We only charge for services that are genuinely required.
 
Are there any hidden costs?
No. All fees are clearly explained and agreed in advance.
 
Can you confirm costs before I start?
Yes. We are happy to review your drawings and confirm which notices and procedures are likely to apply before any work begins.
 
Important Note
All fees relate solely to party wall services carried out in accordance with the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
They do not include architectural design, structural engineering, planning advice, or Building Control fees.
